„Perhaps a painting begins where language loses its courage.“

Mingl works between precision and intuition. In everyday life she knows exact craft, repetition and the patience of waiting for the right moment. In the studio, that precision is allowed to break open: colour runs, surfaces rupture, lines remain visible and gold places light precisely where an image becomes vulnerable.

Her works are created with acrylic, watercolour, pencil, texture and gold. Gold is not a symbol of wealth. It is a trace, light, fracture and sometimes a second skin – something that does not conceal, but reveals.

Mingl’s paintings revolve around memory, identity, nature, vulnerability and what lies hidden beneath a visible surface. They do not seek the merely pleasing. They may be beautiful, but they may also disturb, leave questions unresolved and continue to follow you long after you have moved on.

01 · Material

Between Surface and Trace

Raw acrylic surfaces meet fine drawing, transparent watercolour and golden accents. For Mingl, material is never merely technique – it carries atmosphere and meaning.

02 · Weg

Craft Meets Freedom

Precision and patience are part of Mingl’s background. In painting, they become freedom, risk and the deliberate acceptance of chance. Her visual language emerges precisely within this tension.

Making the Invisible Visible

A face, an animal, a landscape or a memory is rarely just a motif. What matters is what lies beneath: closeness, loss, courage, longing, change – what cannot be explained at first glance.
